Please note this update concerns our RxWorks clients using our Smart Address lookup feature only.
Loqate have made us aware that as of Wednesday 17th July they are going to be switching to TLS 1.2 and removing TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1. You may already be aware of this change as Loqate has reached out to a number of practices directly.
We are working to put an update in place to ensure RxWorks will absorb these changes seamlessly by Wednesday 17th July, ensuring the lookup function is not impacted. This will require us to make a minor change to your RxWorks version and should occur without any disruption to you.
Why do we have to make any changes?
We, at Covetrus™, have to make a change to the Smart Address functionality within RxWorks to point to the new TLS version 1.2. If we do not make these changes, when Loqate removes TLS 1.0 and 1.1 on the 17th July the Smart Address lookup feature will not work as designed.
This change is being made by Loqate as TLS 1.0 and 1.1 are now out of date and should no longer be used to secure communications. So, by removing and upgrading to 1.2 we are maintaining the security and resilience of this feature.
What is TLS?
TLS stands for the Transport Layer Security. It is a security protocol that is used to encrypt and secure your data between different systems and endpoints.
Will this change how Smart Address works?
These changes are behind the scenes, nothing will change how you see and use the Smart Address functionality in RxWorks. Please know we are working on this change with the utmost urgency to ensure there is no disruption to your day to day use.
