Knowledge is power

It’s one thing to invest in technology to support the delivery of your brand, services and care to your clients and animals. Learning how to use your technology is often done at the point of purchase, but is this knowledge refreshed, renewed or maintained?

In the same vein as buying a plant and neglecting it thereafter, without frequent watering, nurturing, and treating it with care – it’s unlikely to bloom and flourish as you had hoped.

You get the picture. Your team’s knowledge and confidence in the use of technology is as important an asset as your investment in the technology itself. As you keep up to date with technology releases, so you need to refresh your team’s knowledge and confidence too.

Indicators of success

The return on your investment in your team’s knowledge is reflected in:

"aIncreased efficiency – confidence in the capability of the technology fuels innovation of your workflows, simplifying processes to deliver increased quality, and increased care to your clients.

"lightYour competitive edge – being supported by technology enables smarter practice decision-making, affecting what and how you deliver your service to your clients, and how you nurture your client loyalty.

"aYour team – skills and talent development is a major indicator and contributor to employee retention. Enabling your team to upskill is a clear statement of trust from you as an employer. Your desire to invest in them affirms their value to the success of your business.

Boosting confidence in veterinary technology is easier than you think

We have invested and modernised our learning offering in veterinary technology to give you industry-leading learning choice, making it easier than ever for your technology to be the silent enabler you wish it to be.

Our award-winning learning team at Covetrus have applied the latest design principles to reinvigorate learning and how best to deliver it. We know veterinary technology is not the most exciting of topics, and that not everyone uses it all the time. If learning is an isolated event, then it is soon forgotten unless it is refreshed frequently or put into practice.

Microlearning – short enough to retain focus, varied enough to consolidate the learning

For your core Practice Management System we have looked to solve these problems and have created microlearning. Short videos (all under 5 minutes), ‘How to’ guides, Test Scenarios are available to put your learning into practice, and Quizzes to help consolidate your learning. These microlearning events are designed to be short enough to keep your focus and to maximise the chances of your retaining that knowledge for when you need it.

We have grouped the microlearning to form role-based learning journeys for:

"RxWorks

"RoboVet

When you complete a journey, you will be awarded a digital badge which evidences your learning for Certificates for Professional Development (CPD) too!

Support your team’s knowledge needs in the flow of work

When a function is infrequently performed, it’s difficult to recall the detail of the learning you received at the outset. Being able to refresh your knowledge quickly does more than improve knowledge on the subject, it boosts confidence in your team’s ability to achieve the task at hand.

Learning Journeys are available on the Covetrus Learning Platform, and enables your veterinary technology to become the silent enabler for your team.
