Test, shape and evolve your practice management software.

What is a pilot site?

‘Pilot’ or ‘Beta’ is a term often used in information technology and software industries that is used to describe a user or group of users that adopt a version of their software prior to the public release. In doing so this pilot or beta practice/user is testing the new version prior to public release.

Why pilot?

“Being a pilot site is a fantastic way to influence the future of our product” – Carly Clark, Product Manger

This is to put the new version under pressure in the real ‘day to day’ of a veterinary clinic life. Whilst we conduct extensive testing prior to releasing to a clinic, not all testing in an office environment can mimic of pick up the demands of veterinary clinic users. Which is why the Covetrus™ Pilot Program is an invaluable part of the release process.

What our customers might not know

What you might not know about piloting is why it is such a valuable step in the product development Lifecyle and at what stage of a release we pilot?

Piloting is paramount to the successful delivery of your practice management system as it provides essential feedback and validation on the new functionality and enhancements made to the product. Identifying key changes that could be made to support you, the users, everyday needs.

At what stage of a release do we engage our pilot sites? Prior to any public release we engage our pilot site partners to arrange an upgrade to the latest version. This occurs once development and internal testing has been completed.

By piloting we have an opportunity to understand and ensure that the functionality being released has been designed and developed meeting the specific requirements the broad range of our users have.
